Earfully Yours: Andreena Mill – “Like A Maniac”

Posted on October 23, 2010 by

Producer, Rene Snaz Hill isn’t letting up when it comes to dropping heat. Just when Andreena Mill‘s previous single “La La La” is at its peak, he leaks a second single from her titled “Like A Maniac.” Andreena sounds like a boss on the track, I’m anticipating a video.

Listen below.

K’Naan opens for FIFA World Cup 2010

K'Naan FIFA World Cup 2010

So, if you know me, you know about my secret plan to marry K’Naan. I mean, I’m no stalker or anything (I promise) but a girl can dream, so maybe… just maybe this blog will be biased.
Who am I kidding? The man is a big ball of talent, no need to be biased, I’m only going to tell the truth. I can definitely appreciate an artist who is as passionate about his music as K’Naan. You can hear it in his voice and see it in his face every time the beat drops.
K’Naan, among Alicia Keys, Black Eyed Peas and Shakira (to name a few) were apart of the opening ceremony for FIFA World Cup. K’Naan received great reviews from the show and watching the video, I can see why.
K’Naan clutched his Somalian flag, cried and said, “it’s our moment.” His version of “Wavin’ Flag” is said to be the highlight of the show. Beautiful :)

Drake: “I feel unsafe in Toronto at all times”

Posted on June 10, 2010 by

Drake's interview with NY Times, talks toronto and rihanna

Drake tells NY Times

“I feel unsafe in Toronto at all times. I’m a one of one. There’s no one else you can hate as much as me if you hate money, or you hate success.”

I can’t say I bame him. At first read I thought, “ummm WHAAT?” But you have to look at it from Drake‘s point of view. There is definitely a lot of jealousy in Toronto, especially in the hip hop community (it’s called the Screwface Capitol for pete’s sake). I’ve heard so many people give their reasons for why they hate or just don’t like Drake and it all just sounds like, “sh*t, that should have been me.” There aren’t a lot of artists who are successful out of or in the city of Toronto (at least not Drake‘s success), especially black artists. So in all fairness, Drake is one of one. Shoot, I’d feel unsafe too. Instead of supporting each other, it’s more fun to rip each ther apart (out of envy)… pathetic.
That doesn’t mean he should abandon his city or forget where he came from and who got him where he is though, and so far, he hasn’t done that.

Advice: Smarten up TDot, your attitude is killing you.

Drake also speaks of his brief relationship with Rihanna (worth a read… ha) and his visit to see Lil’ Wayne in jail.

Drake and Page

… should just get along! But in the mean time…
Drake and Page rap beef diss tracks

On May 21st, Drake released “9 AM in Dallas” which was said to be (well thought to be, by Page at least) a diss track for Page. Reasons why he may have thought Drake went in?

Well….

“… this one is for all the n*ggas from my city tryna diss, without a response from me you really fail to exist. And I love to see you fail, that feeling there is the sh*t, I swear. P*ssy n*gga get ya bread up”
Drake continues to say…
“Why ya scary ass looking down? Pick ya head up, no one told you your disguise is the most ridiculous get up? With nose plugs in now, I can smell a set up, so you just wasting ya time, you only making me better…”

Or maybe he was mad that Drake said, “I just came off making 2 million in 30 days“. Or maybe, “Weezy, I’m just out here repping us.” Hmm. Whatever the truth and situation is, you have to admit, the Drake freestyle is the ish. Aside from the excerpts above, the rest of it is on point and so honest. Talent is talent, no denying that. “Thank Me Later” June 15th.

On May 27th, Canadian rapper, Page released a diss track for Drake by going over his “Over” beat.
Page starts out with
