I’m late: Charice performing “Pyramid” on Oprah

Charice pyramid ft Iyaz on Oprah show

Long before Charice‘s TV shine, I had some of her youtube videos saved on one of my really old channels, years ago. I remember when I saw her on Ellen, I said, “wow, I remember this girl.” I quickly went on youtube to ensure it was the same girl, at that point I really realized how much of a powerful tool the internet is. Don’t sleep people, use it! Anyway, I fell in love with her all over again during her Ellen debut and then soon after she was on Oprah, and singing on stage with Celine Dion. After all that, I didn’t hear much about her (it was my bad, I stopped logging onto her website). Today I saw an interview with her on MTV and I was shocked that she had already put a self-titled album out and had a video for her single, Pyramid ft. Iyaz. WHAAT? Where was I? Anyway, I watched the video and loved the song. Although Iyaz tricks me into thinking it’s a Sean Kingston track, I actually like his stuff, his touch was a nice one for her single. What I adored though, was her performance (alongside Iyaz) on Oprah, yes… I was late on that too (I don’t watch Oprah much, sue me.) She looked absolutely adorable performing and owned the stage, R&B looks good on her ;) .

I’m really happy Charice is doing well and loving all of these life changes. She is by far one of the most talented child singers I’ve heard (singers period, for that matter). I’ll be logging onto her channel more often now, maybe even give her album a listen. Woot!

I added a picture of Charice with make up by a miracle worker… damn, how much? Love it :)

Gabourey Sidibe’s mom on America’s Got Talent

Alice Tan Ridley on America's Got Talent

Um, really?
This revelation shocked me, I can’t be the only one.
Gabourey Sidibe (from Precious) was in the headlines again today and this time they gave her a break and turned the attention on her mother, Alice Tan Ridley. Alice appeared on America’s Got Talent last night and blew the judges (and audience) away with her rendition of, At Last. She blew me away too, for that matter. I always find it so strange how hard it is for truly talented individuals to make it in this industry. As if “At Last” wasn’t already great, she did the song justice (Etta James would be proud).

Nas wants no reminder of Kelis

Posted on June 2, 2010 by

…. at least when he looks down at his arm.
I’m sure we all remember the infamous Kelis tat on Nas‘ right arm. How could we miss it? (Sure, it’s big) but Kelis embedded the news right into her lyrics. Taken from her track, “Bossy,” and I quote, “And that’s right, I’m the one that’s tattooed on his arm.”

Supposedly Nas has now covered up that infamous [big a**, unnecessary] tattoo, pictured below.

Nas covers up Kelis tattoo

Reported by Rhymes With Snitch

If true, then let this be a lesson to you folks “in love,” a tattoo is one of the dumbest not so smart ways of showing your love. I promise you, your partner won’t feel any less appreciated without one. Buy her a car instead … I kid :)

Update: A friend of mine clued me in to this recent interview with Bootleg Kev (video below) where Nas shows off his tattoo. Fast-forward to the 8:52 mark to see the tat.
