Did we all forget about r&b singer Tweet? The other day my sister and I were watching a youtube video and my sister mentioned that the female singing reminded her of Tweet and I agreed. If you really know me then you know that Tweet is one of my favourite female singers of all time. Some of you also get a kick out of me always saying I look just like her! Don’t hate. Ha. Anywho, I wanted to share this throwback video posted by Tweet‘s equally talented daughter, Tashawna over a year ago. Tweet gives updates on her new projects and what I adore about the video is that she sings one of my fave songs off her album, Southern Hummingbird and her voice is absolutely amazing. Her daughter also chimes in and the duet is a must see. I want Tweet to make a comeback so bad! It’s unfair to the music industry for someone with this much talent not to be apart of it.

Yesterday, I was on my laptop doing some youtube surfing with my one year old nephew and came across this video from the South African group, Freshly Ground, titled, “Doo Be Doo.” I instantly fell in love with it and to my surprise so did my nephew. I decided to replay it after the first play because I saw that he was so into it, to another surprise, he was actually singing along to the “doo be doo‘s” and humming the melody. It was the cutest thing ever. I blame him for the almost hundred plays after that and he’s the reason for me already knowing the lyrics to the entire song. It just goes to show, when music is good, it reaches people, no matter what age. I listened to some of their other stuff and was pleased to know they were on stage with Shakira for the FIFA World Cup 2010.

Long before Charice‘s TV shine, I had some of her youtube videos saved on one of my really old channels, years ago. I remember when I saw her on Ellen, I said, “wow, I remember this girl.” I quickly went on youtube to ensure it was the same girl, at that point I really realized how much of a powerful tool the internet is. Don’t sleep people, use it! Anyway, I fell in love with her all over again during her Ellen debut and then soon after she was on Oprah, and singing on stage with Celine Dion. After all that, I didn’t hear much about her (it was my bad, I stopped logging onto her website). Today I saw an interview with her on MTV and I was shocked that she had already put a self-titled album out and had a video for her single, Pyramid ft. Iyaz. WHAAT? Where was I? Anyway, I watched the video and loved the song. Although Iyaz tricks me into thinking it’s a Sean Kingston track, I actually like his stuff, his touch was a nice one for her single. What I adored though, was her performance (alongside Iyaz) on Oprah, yes… I was late on that too (I don’t watch Oprah much, sue me.) She looked absolutely adorable performing and owned the stage, R&B looks good on her .

I’m really happy Charice is doing well and loving all of these life changes. She is by far one of the most talented child singers I’ve heard (singers period, for that matter). I’ll be logging onto her channel more often now, maybe even give her album a listen. Woot!
