Sean Kingston and rapper JBAR in Miami, Sunday evening

Sean Kingston was injured Sunday evening (about 8 hours ago) while vacationing in Miami. The singer lost control of his jet ski, crashed into a bridge and was later rushed to the hospital. TMZ has reported that Sean is being treated in the trauma ward and is in critical condition, due to the severity of his injuries.

According to Local10.com, the “Beautiful Girls” singer had a female passenger on board his watercraft when it crashed into a bridge around 6 PM local time.

We’re told both Kingston and his passenger were rescued from the water by a good Samaritan.

The Miami Fire Dept. responded to the scene and both Kingston and his female passenger were transported to nearby Jackson Memorial Hospital. We’re told Kingston’s injuries are so severe, he is being treated in the trauma ward.

We’re told … at this moment, officials do not believe alcohol played a role in the crash.

Kingston’s rep tells TMZ …. “Sean Kingston was in an accident today. No further details are available at the moment. He and his family thank everyone for the well-wishes.”

I sincerely hope those reports are false and his injuries are not life threatening. I will pray for Sean as I’m sure his family, friends and fans will. I would hate to see such a young, talented individual go before he’s made his mark.

Buju Banton has been in high spirits since his Buju Banton Before The Dawn concert, which brought out some of the biggest names in dancehall and received superb reviews. The Grammy nominated artist has been out on bail since November 2010 and this month he will be back in court to fight for his freedom at his retrial. Buju‘s retrial is set for February 14 and he will now be facing 4 charges, as opposed to the original two. Yesterday the judge in Buju‘s case, Judge James Moody, dismissed a motion to have the new indictment thrown out.

He will now be tried for ‘conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute cocaine,’ ‘attempted possession with the intent to distribute cocaine,’ ‘possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug-trafficking offence’ and ‘using the wires to facilitate a drug-trafficking offence.’

It’s been rumoured that Mariah Carey and her husband Nick Cannon are having twins, but nothing has been confirmed, until now. Nick Cannon announced this morning on his radio show Rolling With Nick Cannon, that he and his wife are indeed expecting twins. Nick gave the reason of privacy, due to complications in Mariah‘s pregnancy, as why they kept it a secret.

Excerpt:

“I do feel in order for my wife and I to be able to live our life, I feel like we need to be upfront and I need to be able to share things with you and be real and come true and come from the heart. I haven’t even told my wife I’m doing this, so I’m probably going to get yelled at for not getting permission.”

He then went on to say (after a long story about Mariah performing for President Obama and his wife Michelle…

“She [Mariah Carey] shared with the president and the first lady that we are having twins.”

What may have seemed like a lifetime to reggae artist Buju Banton, the almost one year stay in jail has come to an end. The artist can breathe easy for awhile after he was granted bail in an immigration court. Although he was granted bail for $300,000 last month, there were issues that enabled him to be released from jail, which were cleared up yesterday.

Buju (real name Mark Myrie) , his family, friends and fans have been sitting on edge since September during his trial where a jury of twelve were unable to reach a decision and ended in a hung jury. Soon after, Buju‘s lawyer fought for bail and although his conditions include wearing a tracking device, this news is all his fans and family could ask for.

One of reggae’s finest, Gregory Isaacs passed away at 59, this morning in London. The singer was best known for his hit singles like, “Night Nurse,” “Rumours,” “Number One,” “If I Don’t Have You” and many more. Gregory Isaacs had been struggling with his health for awhile and he succumbed to his sickness in his London home surrounded by family.

He will go down in history not only as one of Jamaica’s greatest artist, but one of the most positive and creative artists of all time.

Mario‘s fans were shocked to find out he was recently jailed and charged with second degree assault after assaulting his mother, Shawnita Hardaway. It seems the reason behind the incident was due to Shawnita‘s drug addiction, or at least that’s the story Mario‘s lawyer, Hassan Murphy, is telling CNN.

RadarOnline reports:

Hassan Murphy told CNN that Mario’s mother Shawnita Hardaway continues “to struggle with a devastating addiction,” and the confrontation between the two revolved around her drug use.

“Anyone who has waged the battle to save loved ones from the forces of drugs knows the irrational behavior that almost always accompanies their actions,” Murphy added.

The police were called to Mario‘s home (which he shares with his mother) after a dispute and he was later arrested, charged and released on $50, 000 bail.

It’s not easy dealing with loved ones who suffer with addiction. If the fight ensued because of that, I hope Shawnita can look at the damage caused and change for the better. I’m not sure if Mario tried it yet, but tough love is a must. I wish them luck.
