The 2011 Stylus Awards took place on Monday and everyone came out to recognize, celebrate and honour Canada’s biggest DJs and recording artists. The show was jam packed with talent and entertainment, serving up performances, comedy skits, and winners from categories such as, “DJ of the Year,” “Canadian R&B Single of the Year,” “Canadian Hip Hop Single of the Year,” “Fan Choice Artist of the Year and more.

Before the stars filled the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in downtown Toronto, they took the time to walk the red carpet, posing for camera flashes and granting interviews. As always, I’ve posted some of my fave red carpet photos below.

Rihanna is one of the busiest women in entertainment. Immediately after the Grammy Awards Sunday night, Rihanna hopped on the plane to attend the 2011 Brit Awards last night. Riri has been tweeting up a storm about her excitement for the show and although she’s been “sick as a dog,” she didn’t disappoint.

Rihanna had a hit Grammy performance and took home a Grammy to prove she’s still one of the hottest in music. To stamp that approval, she also brought home a Brit award for ‘Best International Female Artist.’

This year’s People’s Choice Awards was a bit of a bore to me. The big winners were the Twilight stars, which made it a Twilight kind of night. The highlight of the awards for me was definitely Queen Latifah‘s hosting. I was impressed with Rihanna‘s win though, even if she wasn’t there to collect. The “What’s My Name” was up against Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Pink for “Favourite Pop Artist” and won the race. Her and Eminem also took home the awards for “Favourite Music Video” and “Favourite Song,” for “Love the Way You Lie.”

It’s safe to say that Rihanna has some of the most loyal fans in the world.

The 12th annual Teen Choice Awards airs tonight on FOX at 8 p.m. EST. The Red Carpet aired LIVE on Ustream last night and it was walked by stars like Nicki Minaj, Lil’ Twist, Selena Gomez, Megan Fox, Sandra Bullock, LL Cool J, The Kardashians and many more.

RadarOnline had a few highlights to expect including Sandra Bullock‘s “dance off” and winning night, as well as Selena Gomez accepting her award from Ellen Generes and Katy Perry‘s performance. P. Diddy was there also, probably acting a fool as usual. Check out the excitement in pictures below.

Aside from the performances I wanted to blog about a few highlights I felt were worth mentioning.

John Legend receiving the Humanitarian Award was a high light for me, good for him! Now stop with all these hairline jokes! J ain’t having that!

John Legend on the hairline jokes:

“And to the haters, I’m still smarter, more talented, more successful and better looking than u. So fall back. Sorry y’all. Couldn’t believe my hairline was a trending topic. Get a life!”

Nicki Minaj‘s speech was a highlight for me as well, you heard that Lil’ Kim? Nicki said:

“Thank you to Queen Latifah, because you know what, earlier we were rehearsing and she just gave me so much positive energy and I think it’s so important right now for positive energy among women, because I’m fighting for women. This is not for me, this is for all of us, so thank you to all the female rappers that paved the way for me.”

These two are so sexy, are they dating? If so, I’m late… if not, whoever they are dating needs to be replaced :p. Nia Long is so beautiful, I’m always in awe of her.

Alicia Keys on that piano was more of a pregnancy scare than a highlight. Ha :p

Drake winning Best Male Hip Hop Artist over everyone who was nominated (including Jay-Z) was a highlight. Not as a “ha ha” but because that’s an amazing accomplishment from someone who just dropped their first album a month ago.

Keyshia Cole‘s appearance was a definite highlight, I missed her! Her and her future hubby looked so cute! I’m happy for them

Overall, the BET Awards didn’t let me down (as they do previous years), this show restored any faith I have in their awards. Everyone did great! What’s in store for next year? Maybe I’ll be there, who knows :p.
