Ok, I was reluctant to even blog about this. The main reason is that, on the outside looking in, I don’t know for sure what the real story is and probably will never know. There is Swizz Beatz‘s side, Mashonda’s side and Alicia Keyz is keeping quiet (Chris Brown should probably hire her publicist). Everyone is gonna have their own story here, it’s the one you choose to believe that makes all the difference. I had a conversation with a friend about this topic and we spoke about losing respect for Alicia, but I can’t say that for sure until she’s proven guilty.
Here’s what I do know.
1. Swizz Beatz and Mashonda were married and had a son.
2. Their divorce is finalized.
3. Mahonda and Swizz got into it over twitter [hot mess]
4. Alicia and Swizz are a couple.
5. Alicia and Swizz are expecting a baby.
6. Swizz has 2 other children
7. Alicia and Swizz are engaged.
According to these seven things, what can I really assess about this situation? Well for one, the divorce between Swizz and Mashonda isn’t even a month old yet. So, for this union (both engagement and baby) to have taken place between Alicia and Swizz, I would have to assume it all happened while he was still married (well duh, Alicia is four months pregnant). Swizz Beatz claims him and his wife ex-wife Mahonda have been separated for over two years. Well, if that’s the case, does it then make it okay to start a new relationship with someone else? Let alone a new life? I mean, if a dude approached me and in whatever conversation we have after that he reveals “I’m married, but separated,” it’s an automatic lock off. I’m sorry hun, single or divorced are the only titles I date. Why was this not Alicia’s response as well? Is this, “You can’t help who you love” syndrome? Even if Alicia can’t help who she loves, can she help who she hurts? As Mashonda put it, they were fooling around while her and Swizz were together and she was hurt. Not only her, but what about her son? If he indeed cheated, what makes Alicia think he won’t do it to her?
I posted a question on facebook to the tune of, “What is so attractive about married men?” and received some interesting feedback from all different points of view.

I have to admit I don’t feel alicia keys like I use to. I know there is 2 sides to every story but for some reason I believe what mashonda says. Swizz beats says that they were seperated… seperated is not divorced so in my eyes even if that was the case for him he still comitted adultery.I still will never understand why alicia settled for that like you said if he did it to Mashonda what makes alicia think it’s not a possibilty for him to do it to her..
Can’t seem to like her after this whole thing, she needs to do some explaining.
